Thanks to your help finding new vislae trapped here in Shadow, we have reached our next stretch goal and unlocked an upgrade to The Electric Sun—one of what we hope will be many! The Electric Sun will now include a fully playable new order of magic, giving you a new option beyond the choice of goetic, maker, vance, weaver, or apostate. You’ll have everything you need to build and play characters in this order—it’s a substantial upgrade to The Electric Sun’s page count!

And, of course, as a free bonus every backer also gets a bookmark—in this case, for Secrets of Silent Streets. As gorgeous as this is, the real value lies in its utility. Although it isn’t shown in the image (the design work isn’t finished yet), it will be loaded with useful reference info for that title.

This successful conjuration opens the path to another. But before we discuss the next stretch goal, let’s talk about wicked keys.

Wicked keys, rare items that fall from the sky during stormy keyfalls, can unlock anything that stands in your way. Not just buildings or vaults, but creatures and even people. They are potent and highly sought-after. Pictured above is a set we summoned when the original Invisible Sun Black Cube was crowdfunded. Those have long disappeared into the hands of industrious vislae, so this campaign is conjuring an all-new set.

The new set, available as an add-on or part of THE BREADTH OF THE ACTUALITY pledge level, includes nine keys. Like the original set, they’ll come in a variety of designs and finishes, so that no two keys in a set will be the same. 

This is where you come in. Throughout this campaign, we’re going to unveil some of the preliminary designs for the new wicked keys, and you can help us choose which designs to make. Let’s start right now:

Our next goal brings a bit of the Actuality’s unearthly beauty here to the Grey. It’s also a special reward for the vislae who have helped call Invisible Sun: Indigo into being—that is: you, our backers.

With this goal, we’ll give Invisible Sun: Indigo a foil box—it will be printed on an iridescent material that amplifies the vivid brilliance of its colors. It will be an even greater beauty than the standard box, and a true collector’s item because it’s exclusively for the backers of this campaign. The version available in stores or from MCG in the future will retain a standard-printing finish; only this campaign’s backers will get the exclusive foil finish.

We’re so excited to add this element of beauty to Invisible Sun: Indigo. We’ll unlock this beautiful foil box when we reach 1376 backers. We had a great weekend, so we're already a big chunk of the way there!

Every time we unlock a stretch goal, we also extend a gift to every backer: a reference bookmark for one of Invisible Sun’s many inspiring and useful supplements. When we unlock the Indigo box upgrade, we’ll also give every backer a bookmark for Teratology:

Teratology is the bestiary of the Actuality; a hefty and awe-inspiring tome of creatures, characters, and other beings from the length of the Path of Suns. It’s an astonishing source of utility and inspiration at the game table, and this bookmark will make it that much more useful.

Every backer, regardless of pledge level, will get this and all unlocked bonus bookmarks added to their rewards for free!

Thanks to your efforts, we have pulled hundreds of additional vislae out of Shadow and brought them back to their true home: the Actuality. We have passed 999 backers, and unlocked our first upgrade to Invisible Sun: Indigo.

Invisible Sun: Indigo will now include a set of four bookmarks, one for each of the corebooks in the game: The Key, The Way, The Path, and The Gate. Each bookmark will include valuable reference and index information, making it a useful aid above and beyond its ability to mark a page in a book.

This is the first of what we hope will be many unlocked goals. We’ll explore the next one in just a moment, but first we wish to unveil a bonus for you!

The bookmarks we just unlocked are going to be quite handy—so handy, in fact, that we wish there was a similar resource for each of the many Invisible Sun supplements already in print. So we’re going to make them! And we’re going to give them to you as free, bonus rewards—one with each stretch goal we unlock.

From this point on, every time we unlock a stretch goal we’ll also make a new bookmark. And every backer will get it, automagically. So no matter what pledge level you back at, you’ll get a bonus bookmark with every unlocked stretch goal, even if that goal upgrades or unlocks an item that’s not part of your rewards. You get something with every goal.

Many of Invisible Sun’s existing supplements are more than just books. Some include cards and handouts. Others come in unusual formats that let you use them in cool and surprising ways. (Like Enchiridion of the Path, every page is removable for use as an in-game item.) The Nightside even comes in a warded cloth bag, to protect your other books from its malign influence!

The Electric Sun is currently envisioned as a conventional book, but Monte always has bigger and more innovative ideas. We hope to expand it—and maybe even alter its form—through this campaign’s stretch goals.

As the Electric Sun’s influence spreads through the Actuality, it introduces a whole new magical methodology—and a whole new vislae order. When we reach 1,277 backers we will add an all-new, playable order to the world of Invisible Sun. The book will get bigger, as the designers create and add everything needed to build and play vislae members of this order.

As we explained above, every time we unlock a stretch goal, we’ll also unlock a bonus bookmark. 

Along with the upgrade to The Electric Sun, we’ll make a bookmark for the first of Invisible Sun’s wonderful supplements: Secrets of Silent Streets. This title is filled with in-depth information on Satyrine, the City of Notions. The heart of the Actuality. The city under the Indigo Sun. The hefty tome is filled with places, characters, creatures, events, and items, and details the seventeen districts of Satyrine, plus the ruined expanses that wend between them. This bookmark, with handy reference and indexing info for the book, will be a handy addition. And like everything Invisible Sun, it will also be striking and beautiful.

And every backer will get it as a free bonus reward!

Remember, this campaign’s goals are based on the number of vislae we help free from Shadow—the number of backers that back this campaign. And a crowdfunding campaign soars when—and only when—its backers help spread the word.

What an exciting launch this campaign has had! Invisible Sun: Electric and Indigo is now funded—so let’s talk about stretch goals!

Every crowdfunding campaign lives or dies by the enthusiasm its backers bring to it. If you’re excited about Invisible Sun, sharing that excitement is the best way—the only way—to help us reach stretch goals. Our first day has been dominated by vislae who have already escaped Shadow—backers who are already playing Invisible Sun. We need to reach new vislae to really break Shadow’s grip!

We have some shortcuts you can use to help spread the word below.

Invisible Sun is a rich, dense tapestry of a game, with hundreds of pages of lore and information. It’s also an astonishing physical production, loaded with both beautiful and useful components.

Through stretch goals, we’d like to increase and expand what you get within the Invisible Sun: Indigo box. And we’re always interested in components and design elements that make a sprawling, information-dense game easy to play and access.

So for our first stretch goal we’d like to add four bookmarks to Invisible Sun: Indigo, each themed to one of the four corebooks (The Key, The Way, The Path, and The Gate). These will be handy not just for marking a spot of interest in the book, but also because they’ll contain index content right on the bookmark. They’ll help you more quickly find information you’re looking for.
