The Electric Sun is one step closer to your game table!
3 days ago – Thu, Sep 10, 2026 at 10:31:12 AM

Greetings, vislae—

Happy summer! Soon the seasons will be turning (hopefully)—leading us straight into the perfect spooky time of year for an Invisible Sun campaign!

In our last update, we talked about how The Electric Sun has turned out to be a bigger book than we expected. In case you missed it:

  • You can use The Electric Sun as the first session after the desideratum, or incorporate it into an ongoing narrative.
  • There are seventeen major NPCs—some are adversaries, some are allies, and some could go either way—giving you plenty to add to existing campaigns or interact with in this new one.
  • In terms of the potential new magical order, crafting for the Arcist order is more like Weaver magic than Maker magic—we’ll let you consider how that might manifest!
  • Due to the nature of this expansion, there are multiple strange outcomes for the end of the narrative; one of the least catastrophic ones replaces the current moon with something else!

Now we can excitedly share that The Electric Sun has finished design and editing, and is moving into layout! In our next update, we’ll share some layout graphics and sneak peeks with you. If you’re a fan of Invisible Sun, then you know how gorgeous this book is going to be!

Have you seen this??

@jackmonkeygames recently shared this video of his computer on Instagram. It lights up with the Path of Suns when he turns it on—and how does he do that, do you ask? Well, of course, by placing a Testament of Suns on top.

Got a cool piece of Invisible Sun gear? We’d love to see! Your creativity is unbeatable. Post it and tag @montecookgames (or tell us in the comments below!).

Thank you for your support and patience!

The Electric Sun: Bigger than Expected!
about 2 months ago – Thu, Jul 16, 2026 at 09:05:01 AM

 Greetings, vislae—

In our last update, we explained a little about the complex printing ritual for Invisible Sun: Indigo. Now, we want to share how The Electric Sun has progressed. For a start, The Electric Sun has turned out to be a bigger book than we expected—and certainly bigger than we’d planned in our crowdfunding campaign. How so?

  • You can use Electric Sun as the first session after the desideratum, or incorporate it into an ongoing narrative.

Ok—that’s enough teasing for this time. We’ll let you know more about how things are progressing in our next update.

From Invisible Sun to Between Earth and Sky: more strange magic awaits!

If magic is your thing (and, let’s face it, that’s why we’re walking the Path of Suns), then you have to check out our next project: the Between Earth and Sky Roleplaying Game!

Rituals of printing and ink...
3 months ago – Tue, Jun 16, 2026 at 04:05:25 PM

Greetings, vislae—

In our last update we were happy to report that Invisible Sun: Indigo is headed to the printers. Like all great rituals, this process always takes a bit of time, due to the sheer volume of products, the complexity of the product, and also because we are sent both photos of progress as well as print proofs to ensure that this premier product stays top notch. Keep your communication imps primed for more info later!

Magical Ink

Also, a big hello and thank you to everyone who came to see us at UK Games Expo last week, and to the wonderful and enthusiastic Invisible Sun fans, a couple of whom love this game so much that they have magical ink! You are all amazing and wondrous vislae!

Thank you for your support and enthusiasm!

Invisible Sun: Indigo is going to print!
4 months ago – Thu, May 21, 2026 at 04:09:09 PM

Greetings, vislae—

Last time we updated you on the progress of Electric Sun, which you can read about here, we mentioned that Invisible Sun: Indigo was finishing up in the design and production process. Now, we’re happy to report that Invisible Sun: Indigo is heading to the printers!

Indigo is going to be a truly gorgeous game, worthy of the top shelf spot in any gamer’s collection. Weighing in at more than half the Black Cube’s weight, with more than 4 books, 1,000 cards, and dozens of extras such as handouts, dice, and an entire playmat, we’re sure this boxed set is worth the wait.

Have you seen this mockup edition? Gorgeous though it is, our mockup is a pale comparison to the beauty of what you’ll receive. Printed on an iridescent material that amplifies the vivid brilliance of its color, it will be an even greater beauty than the standard box, and a true collector’s item because it’s exclusively for the backers of this campaign!

Indigo has moved into manufacturing, and printing should start soon. Be on the lookout for messages from us later this summer about redeeming your copy! If you need a refresher on how we fulfill crowdfunding campaign rewards, check out this handy guide.

Plus Printer-Friendly Handouts!

We’re also excited to share that all the player and GM handouts that go with Indigo have been reformatted to letter-size, including the character sheets. This will make printing them at home much easier!

Thank you for your support and patience!

The Electric Sun is going into production!
5 months ago – Thu, Apr 02, 2026 at 11:48:29 AM

Greetings, vislae—

Shadow is closer to lifting. The Electric Sun grows ever brighter with voltaic glow. And more vislae than ever will soon be able to awaken with Invisible Sun: Indigo!

After a tense few months navigating the current environment of international trade, tariffs, and other less-than-ideal-game-making-conditions, we’re excited to share our progress on bringing Electric Sun and Invisible Sun: Indigo to your hands!

We are sorry about the delays you’ve faced in receiving updates as backers of this campaign, and want to assure you that our team has been working diligently behind the scenes to bring these games to life. We never want to clutter your inbox with meaningless emails and updates—no one wants to hear the details of receiving quotes from printers and navigating international trade tariffs (sometimes not even us!).

A peek into The Electric Sun!

Sean Reynolds is wrapping up design on The Electric Sun, and wanted to tease a few elements he's most excited about (and most willing to share, without spoiling things too much). You can expect to find…

  • Three mapped-out vislae houses to explore (or use as a model for a PC vislae’s home)
  • An apostate mother of a “robot” child
  • An unorthodox Goetic who summons using magical music
  • A Vance with a garden that grows teeth
  • An idealistic Maker who wants to end all suffering in the Actuality
  • A zilat whose magical talent is frozen ugliness
  • A crater on another sun created in the shadow of the warden’s palace
  • Flying sharks with metal armor controlled by an Arcist device
  • Unique horrors from a Hate Cyst

With design almost finished, we expect to begin working on the layout for The Electric Sun soon. We’ll also have a great big update soon outlining where Invisible Sun: Indigo is in the production process! Here’s a mockup made in our warehouse of what this smaller version of the Black Cube will look like. Don’t be fooled: it’s still going to be one hefty game!
